Townhouse Fire Displaces Five, No Injuries Reported
A Leesburg family is currently being assisted by the Red Cross following a fire that occurred in the basement of their two story home last Friday.
A Leesburg family of five has been displaced after their townhouse caught fire last Friday, around 5:02 p.m. Fire and Rescue crews from Leesburg, Ashburn and Hamilton were dispatched to 154 Meadows Ln., Ne to find the two-story home filled with smoke.
According to Loudoun County Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management, crews initiated an aggressive fire attack into the basement and declared it under control within approximately 30 minutes of operations. Units remained on scene until 8 p.m. ventilating the home and assisting the residents in collecting undamaged/unburned possessions.
The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire and determined it to be accidental, caused by the electrical system malfunction in the basement. The estimated dollar loss is $40,000.

Two residents were home at the time of the fire but were self-evacuated safely. The entire family is being assisted by the Red Cross for accommodations.
