Wednesday Fire Classified as Arson
Local authorities are looking for anyone who might be able to determine who set fire to the building.
The cause of a structure fire that occurred at the Loudoun County Community Corrections Office on Wednesday is being classified as an arson, according the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue officials.
Fire and rescue units from Leesburg, Hamilton, Lansdowne, Lucketts and Ashburn responded to the fire at 107 Loudoun Street in Leesburg Wednesday at about 6:15 a.m. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
Damage to the structure was extensive and is estimated at $200,000. The fire forced the relocation of the Community Corrections staff to a building at 106 Edwards Ferry Road, N.E. in Leesburg until further notice.
