Winter Storm: County Urges, "Stay Off the Roads"

"In some cases it is difficult to know where the road is located."

Loudoun County officials are warning residents to stay off the roads as the area wakes up to the most significant snowfall we've had this season.

"Roads are treacherous due to the heavy snowfall," according to a statement. "There are many areas where the snow is quite deep and in some cases it is difficult to know where the road is located."

County staff encourage those who have to drive to wait until the road is plowed. Drivers should also have a winter kit in the car, because it will be difficult for emergency vehicles to reach them if they become stranded.

Road closures and road condition updates are at loudoun.gov/winter.
