Company with Leesburg Office Under Investigation

U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa called for a hearing Wednesday on Strong Castle's federal contracts.

Strong Castle LLC, which has an office in Leesburg, is at the center of an investigation by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which is chaired by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA). According to a report released Tuesday, Strong Castle CEO Braulio Castillo had a cozy relationship with an IRS official that helped the company gain federal contracts worth nearly $500 million.

Several online search tools indicate Castillo may have a home in Ashburn.

Castillo used a foot injury sustained during a one-year stint at military prep school to gain status as a service disabled veteran, according to the report.

During a six month period, Strong Castle acquired more than $500 million in contracts after having annual revenue of just $250,000 prior to January 2012, according to the report. Strong Castle was formerly known as Signet Computers and had gained status as a HUBzone business, which provided further government-backed benefits.
