Town Council Candidates Confirmed

Nine candidates will appear on the ballot during the Nov. 6 election. Four of the candidates would be returning members.

Tuesday marked the filing deadline for prospective candidates in the upcoming Leesburg Town Council elections. Terms for Mayor Kristen Umstattd along with council members Katie Hammler, Tom Dunn, and David Butler will expire this year. 

According to General Registrar Judy Brown, each member has filed the proper paper work in order to re-run in the Nov. 6 election. .

New applicants include Leesburg resident , Jim Sisley, former councilman Robert Zoldos and , who ran against Kelly Burk in April’s special election. Leesburg resident Linda Shotton, who serves as chairman of the town's Environmental Advisory Commission, will run against Umstattd for mayor.
