Town Council Seeks Candidates to Fill Vacant Seat

Interested persons are invited to submit resumes and letters of interest to the Town by December 30, 2011

 

The Leesburg Town Council is soliciting interest from citizens to fill the council vacancy created by council member Ken Reid’s election to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. 

The Town Council plans to consider candidates and make an appointment in January 2012. The term of this appointment will be until a special election is held to elect a council member to fill the remainder of the term expiring Dec. 31, 2014. The date of the special election has not been determined.

Interested persons may submit their résumés and letters of interest to the Clerk of Council at the Leesburg Town Hall, located at 25 West Market Street, in Leesburg, by 12 noon on Friday, Dec. 30. Candidates must be eligible to vote in town elections and must have resided in the town for at least one year.

The Leesburg Town Council meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month in regular session and holds work sessions the Mondays preceding council meetings. All meetings are held at the Leesburg Town Hall.
