Town Council Special Election, April 17

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 pm. to fill a vacant seat on the Leesburg Town Council.

A special election will be held in Leesburg on Tuesday, April 17 beginning at 6 a.m.

Former Supervisor Kelly Burk and Leesburg resident Dwight Dopilka are running to fill a seat that was recently vacated by Ken Reid upon his election to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors. The term will expire on Dec. 31, 2014.

The election is only open to those registered to vote within the Town of Leesburg. Although voter turnout is expected to be low, polling places will remain open until 7 p.m. To verify registration and precinct information visit the State Board of Elections website.
