10th District Art Show Draws Talented Student Artists

Exhibit on display through April at GWU's Ashburn campus.

Congressman Frank Wolf’s (R-VA-10) reception for 10th District arts students from 23 area high schools, as well as home school students, drew hundreds of young artists and their families to The George Washington University's Loudoun campus.

"An Artistic Discovery," a national competition, selects a Best of Show piece to hang in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year.

"This is the largest group we have had in all the years of this program. One look at this exhibit will convince you these talented students will be running the world," said Dr. Ali Eskandarian, dean of GWU’s Science and Technology campus in Ashburn.

Abby Lockhart, a sophomore at Loudoun Valley High School in Purcellville echoed Pritchard's comments.

"I have been interested in art since I was little, and I want to be an art teacher on the high school level, incorporating sign language," she said.

The exhibit remains on display at GWU's Loudoun campus.
