Community Information on HS-8

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will hold a community information meeting to review the proposed HS-8, Ashburn area high school to be located on a portion of the National Conference Center property.

LCPS is preparing applications for a Special Exception (SPEX) and Zoning Concept Plan Amendment (ZCPA) to allow the high school to be co-located with the existing Belmont Ridge Middle School.

These applications seek to utilize the remainder of the middle school site, the adjacent park site and 45 acres of the National Conference Center property for a high school and its educational program facilities.  The proposed development will include a high school to serve 1600 students, associated program facilities including lighted baseball and softball playing fields, and a stadium.   The proposed school, HS-8, will serve the Ashburn area providing relief to Stone Bridge, Broad Run and Tuscarora High Schools.  The planned opening is for the Fall, 2015 as identified in the Loudoun County School Board Adopted 2012-2016 Capital Improvement Plan.

The purpose of the meeting is to share information with the surrounding community on the proposed site.  If you are unable to attend this meeting, please do not hesitate to contact the LCPS office for further information. A PowerPoint project summary will be posted on the LCPS website (www.lcps.org) under the Quick Link for Planning and Legislative Services the following day.  The boundary process for this school will take place approximately eighteen months prior to the opening.
