Loudoun Co. School Official Moves to Fairfax Co. Public Schools

Fairfax County Public Schools has named a new assistant superintendent for Burke-area schools, and it's someone who had worked in Loudoun. 

Angela Gwynne-Atwater currently serves as director of curriculum and instruction for Loudoun County Public Schools. She will move to Fairfax County Public School’s Cluster 6 beginning August 1, according to a press release from FCPS.

Cluster 6 includes the Lake Braddock Secondary School, Robinson Secondary School, and West Springfield High School pyramids.

She replaces Leslie Butz, who is retiring.

“Dr. Gwynne-Atwater is an experienced administrator and educator with the potential to make a substantial contribution to Fairfax County schools,” FCPS Superintendent Karen Garza stated in a press release.

Gwynne-Atwater has previously served as a principal of Liberty Elementary School in Loudoun County and principal of Antietam Elementary School in Prince William County Public Schools, according to her biography on the FCPS website.
