McDonald's Announces Hispanic Scholarship Program

The deadline to apply is March 1. Winners will be announced this Spring.

The McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C., in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund (HCF), will be honoring exceptional Hispanic students in the Greater Washington, D.C., area with the 3nd Annual McDonald’s Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Program.

Eligible students can download an application for the $1,500 scholarship prize. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 1. Winners will be announced and recognized in the spring.

Local McDonald’s franchisees believe it is important to recognize outstanding young people in their communities and will award $21,000 in scholarships this year to deserving students. Fourteen student honorees will each receive a $1,500 scholarship to the U.S.college or university of their choice.

Students selected will have demonstrated leadership, character, exceptional scholastic skills, and volunteerism. The scholarship program is open to high school seniors who are pursuing any undergraduate major in Fall 2011 and reside within the Greater Washington, D.C., area - including the District of Columbia and portions of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia. All applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
