The decision to close or delay school is made before buses start rolling, with an announcement by 6 a.m.
The information is posted on the LCPS Facebook Page. The school district notifies these radio and TV stations directly:
- WMAL 630 AM
- WTOP 1500 AM and 103.5 FM
- WINC 92.5 FM
- WTOP 103.5 FM and 103.9 FM
- WRC TV 4
- FOX TV 5
- WJLA TV 7
- WUSA TV 9
- News Channel 8
