Second Graders at Sycolin Creek Plant Red Maple

The five-year-old tree was donated by Sunrise Landscape + Design and planted on the school's property to celebrate Arbor Day.

A five-year-old red maple was planted at , on Friday, April 27, following a donation from Sunrise Landscape + Design

Mrs. Brosan’s second grade class participated in the event by placing shovels full of dirt and mulch for the new tree. The red maple was planted along the front entrance of the school and joins three saucer magnolias and two Kwansan cherries planted in previous years.

“We are so happy to be able to give back to our community," said owner Joe Markell. “This is a great time to get the children involved and educate them about the benefits of trees and landscape maintenance.”

Sunrise also donated stones to build a bench next to the tree to acknowledge the hard working staff at the elementary school. The event took place in recognition of Arbor Day.
