A.V. Symington Tennis Center Hosts Boys Championship
The event featured 32 of the best male players in the Mid-Atlantic region
The A.V. Symington Tennis Center hosted the Boys 12 Championship this past weekend. The event consisted of the best 32 males in the Mid-Atlantic including local resident Connor Lake, who made it to the quarter finals.
The winner was Baltimore resident Kyrylo Tsygura and the runner-up was Brian Cernoch, also of Baltimore. The final match took two and half hours to complete with a score of 6 to 1, 4 to 6, and 7 to 6.
"It’s amazing to me how tiny these kids are but how hard they hit the little fuzzy ball," said Head Tennis Professional Moses Gittens. He added that the event was a great success. The weather was great and the kids had a fun experience, he said.
