Earlier this summer, Ida Lee Park Recreation Center welcomed aspiring young athletes to Nike Basketball Camp-Leesburg.
During the event, world champ and former Washington Bullets forward Kevin Grevey shared stories and tips for success in sports and life. The event may just be an example of more similar camps to come.
“The Nike Basketball Camp-Leesburg was a great success, attracting 60 young players eager to take their game to the next level,” director and former Washington Wizard Awvee Storey said in a statement released by the Town of Leesburg. “Accompanied by a very experienced group of coaches, we provided boys and girls with a professional basketball experience, teaching the fundamentals of the game as well as sharing our individual stories of success, both on and off the court. We are also very pleased with our partnership with Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation and look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.”
Ida Lee’s Rec Center serves as host for other sports camps throughout the year, with the goal of introducing young players to a higher level of play. For more information, please visit www.idalee.org.
