Loudoun Soccer Partners With Inova Loudoun Hospital

The hospital will help to train coaches on a variety of health related subjects including concussion awareness.

Loudoun Soccer is proud to announce a health and wellness partnership with Inova Loudoun Hospital. As part of the partnership, the hospital will help to train coaches on a variety of health related subjects including concussion awareness. Inova Loudoun Hospital has also provided team first aid kits so coaches are prepared in the event of a minor injury at practice and games. Coach training should begin this fall.

“This is an opportunity for us to work directly with one of the largest youth sports organizations in our community and help educate and equip people who can have a significant impact on the health of the 7,500 children that participate in Loudoun Soccer,” said Inova Loudoun Hospital CEO H. Patrick Walters.

Inova Loudoun Hospital’s Mobile Health Unit will be at a variety of Loudoun Soccer events throughout the year offering educational information and interactive displays while being on site as a cooling and first aid station.

“This is a natural fit for our organizations,” said Loudoun Soccer Board President Tom Thomas. "As Virginia’s largest youth soccer program, we want to make sure we are offering our coaches the best and most current information on medical topics, especially on concussions. Inova Loudoun Hospital has physicians that specialize in caring for children and we are looking forward to working with them.”
