NCAA College Football Schedule: Everything Local

No. 1 Alabama v. Virginia, Virginia Tech v. Brigham Young: Who to look for, lines, college football rankings and where to watch.

Summer’s not even done cooking yet, but already it’s time for college football. Virginia’s teams are nowhere to be found among the top college football rankings, but that’s why they play the games, right?

The college betting lines, predictably, aren’t showing a lot of hope for Virginia Tech, 18-point underdogs to No. 1 Alabama. (See the game on ESPN at 5:30 Saturday.)

Virginia’s an underdog, too, but by only a field goal, to Brigham Young. (Game time is 3:30, and it’s on ESPN2.)

Keep an eye out for the local guy.

It’s uncertain who will play, but there are local players in both games. Some have been red-shirted, but others could get time on the field.

Brian Rody (Stone Bridge), Scott Rolin (Briar Woods), Chase Williams (Loudoun County) and David Wang (Stone Bridge) all play for Tech. Jackson Matteo (Broad Run) and Rob Burns (Stone Bridge) play for Virginia, and Jonathan Allen (Stone Bridge) plays for top-ranked Alabama.

And good news for football addicts: Your fellow junkies will certainly be there to support you at several establishments nearby where you can watch the games.
