Victorious Ida Lee Team Asks: Tennis Anyone?

Leesburg’s mixed doubles tennis team, Team Ida Lee, won the 2011 Mixed Doubles Challenge Cup at Chestnut Forks Athletic Club in Warrenton from Feb. 25 -27.

The area’s top players competed for three days, representing the Middleburg Tennis Club, Ida Lee Tennis Center and Chestnut Forks Athletic Club.

Moses Gittens, Ida Lee Recreation Center’s head tennis pro, said he was impressed with the level of play during the competition. Team Ida Lee won 14 matches in a row, winning the cup for the second year running.

Team members include:  Captain Moses Gittens, Jen Beamish, Vinnie Khera, Lju Pavlov, Matt Stillwagon, Vicki Bresnahan, Don Barker, Brooke Brown, Rod Young, Dina Holstead, Nico Botha, Liz Sweet, Korey Suk, Kitty Foster, Vijay and Zan Shah, Babe McGuire, Lloyd Jacobs, Terry Crowley, Lance Rice and Noe Vasquez.
