Ball’s Bluff Regional Park to Hold 'Park Day' on Saturday

Volunteers needed for clean-up efforts, in coordination with Keep Leesburg Beautiful campaign.

Release, Town of Leesburg:

In conjunction with the Civil War Trust’s annual nationwide “Park Day” historic site and battlefield preservation event, and the Town of Leesburg’s Keep Leesburg Beautiful campaign, the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority is hosting a clean-up event at Ball’s Bluff Regional Park in Leesburg, on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

The work at Ball’s Bluff will focus on re-mulching the park trails and brush clearing. The event will begin at 9:00am. Volunteers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes and to bring gloves. Volunteers may bring their own rakes and shovels, but should clearly mark these items for easy identification. Event organizers also suggest that volunteers bring plenty of bottled water. No pre-registration is needed.

Ball’s Bluff Regional Park’s clean-up day accomplishments will be included in the Town of Leesburg’s month-long Keep Leesburg Beautiful effort. As a thank you, each volunteer will receive a free one-day pass to Ida Lee Park Recreation Center. Volunteers do not need to be Town of Leesburg residents.
