Brooms Flying (not really, but still fun): Harry Potter's favorite past-time travels to Leesburg this weekend for the Quidditch Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship. The event includes exclusive merchandise for Potter fans, along with "kidditch" sessions for children. Free. Loudoun Soccer Park, 19798 Sycolin Road, Leesburg.

Holly Jolly Jazz Hands: The Institute of Performing Arts for Youth and Creative Dance Center offers its largest production yet of "Nutcracker in a Shell — All Jazzed Up!" Six in Ten: Potomac Falls High School's theatre department presents "Take Ten! A Night of Short Plays."
