Join the fun July 5 at Old Stone School with games, prizes, face painting, a bake sale and more before fireworks begin at dusk.

Join the Hillsboro Community Association & Friends Saturday, July 5 for the annual Independence Day Celebration at Old Stone School.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Old Stone School located at 37098 Charles Town Pike in Hillsboro. Treat yourself to BBQ Chicken dinners, games, prizes, face painting and a bake sale with live music provided by the Franklin Park Big Band. Visitors will have a chance to patch together a quilt square that will decorate a quilt for wounded service men and women.

Free ice cream donated by Hill Tom Market and Dot Shetterly will be served at 7 p.m. while the Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers take the stage. Fireworks begin at dusk.

Donations of $5 per person or $10 per family are requested upon entry or after the event to manage and maintain the historic Old Stone School building.

The Hillsboro Community Association & Friends of the Old Stone School needs roughly 100 volunteers for the celebration. Sign up to be a volunteer today or email contact@HillsboroVa.com for more information.
