Traffic Impacted by Weekend Events; Where You'll See Delays

Races and downtown event will keep attendees busy, but motorists need to be careful.

Spring is bringing lots of events to the area, and the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office again is warning residents to be careful around event areas and to take different routes, if possible.

On Saturday, a bicycle race will be held in the area of Davis Avenue in the Sterling area. The races will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

There will also be a race in the Western Loudoun in the area of Mountain Road, Axline Road, Picnic Woods Road and Morrisonville Road. The event will be held from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Motorists are asked to please be patient, drive safely and follow all law-enforcement direction," according to the LCSO.

I'd also note that Leesburg's car show is on Saturday evening. Downtown streets will close at 4:00pm for car show staging. For more information, please visit novarodsnclassics.org
