I spent a day preparing items for drop-off, made my appointment, and all appeared to be going well. I elected not to have items go to donation and to retrieve from the store myself–understanding the $20.00 fee would be waived. Just as items went to the sale rack I went to retrieve them. Working with the lady behind the counter, we painstakingly walked through the 15 items on my list. She told me that two of my items sold in July and I should expect a check in August. I didn't receive a check called to find out what happened. I was told my check was for $8 and checks under $10.00 didn’t get mailed out. Doing the math, this didn’t add up. I contacted the store and they disputed 2 items had sold. I called 3 times to speak with the manager and after the third time received an email–not a phone call–stating that ‘I made a mistake but they would send a check anyway. I still have no resolution on my second item nor why I received only eight dollars and change. The concept of a consignment boutique in Leesburg is wonderful – but the accountability of consignor items and accounting I draw into question. Me not receiving my items back, nor receiving the price for the items is tantamount to stealing from me – which I do not appreciate.
If the individual who purchased the light silver/blue two piece Jones New York silk pants and jacket top would inform the owner that the piece was indeed sold I would greatly appreciate it.
