Thomas Balch Library is a special collections library focused on history and genealogy. In 1922 the library was founded as a private library. Currently, it is owned by the town of Leesburg. Its collection focuses on Loudoun County, regional history, Virginia history, genealogy, military history and ethnic history. I don't live in Loudoun but I travel to Leesburg just because of this library, it is wonderful and they people who work it are so knowledgeable and helpful, I just love it there.
