This week instead of heading out to a business, I'm seeing what all of you are doing with your homes.

 When your child wakes up at 4:30 in the morning asking for waffles, it's hard to remember why you signed up for this whole parenting thing in the first place. When you drive by a house with beautiful twinkling Christmas lights strung up and you hear your toddler say, "whoa! Pretty!" from the backseat, it all becomes clear. That's why this week, instead of featuring a business that I've visited lately, I decided to take a trip around town to see how Leesburg residents have been decorating their homes. Whether it's just simple lights on the roof, or a whole display including Santa and a reindeer, I have been beyond impressed with the decorations that I've seen this season. Christmas lights are one of the exciting parts of the holidays that do not wear off as you age. In all honesty, many people, especially men, seem to have their fascination with Christmas lights heighten as they age, especially around the time they purchase their first house. In a blink of an eye, hundreds of dollars are spent to cover every tree, bush and open space with lights, blow-up snowmen and candy canes. This weekend, enjoy the wannabee Clark Griswalds by heading out for an old fashion trolley tour across Purcellville. The Fourth Annual Purcellville Trolley Tour takes guests past a variety of elaborately decorated houses. Local residents have spent hours preparing their houses specifically for this tour.
