The Leesburg Wednesday Farmers Market opens May 1 for the 2013 season in the parking lot of the Virginia Village Shopping Center on Catoctin Court in Leesburg. The market operates from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Saturday market begins this weekend and operates from 8 a.m. to noon at the same location. The Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Cooperative Inc. runs the county’s farmers markets, which are dedicated to providing a place for local farms and food artisans to sell their products. Everything sold at the Market is raised, grown or made from scratch by the seller. Out with the old and in with the new! On Saturday, May 5, the Leesburg Farmers Market kicked off its summer season at the Virginia Village Shopping Center, on Catoctin Street. This year's market, which is run by Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Cooperative (LVHMC) , Inc., features over a dozen local farmers and food artisans who raise, grow or make their items from scratch.
