Leesburg Fire Displaces Four

The Sunday night fire is estimated to have caused $100,000 in damage.

An Aug. 5 fire displaced four residents and a guest, and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to a home on Birch St. NE in Leesburg. Units from the Leesburg, Lansdowne, Hamilton and Ashburn fire stations responded to call just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday about a basement fire. Firefighters had the primary blaze under control within 14 minutes after arriving. While the fire was contained to the basement, significant smoke damage was reported throughout the home. The American Red Cross assisted the family with housing arrangements. The Loudoun County Fire Marshal’s Office deemed the fire to be accidental and estimated damages at $100,000. No injuries were reported.
