Be careful Colleen. You a) clearly don't know what a blog is-- people blog about themselves; b) can't tell time based on the last (poorly-thought-out) posted comment you made hours ago; and c) missed the point of my post completely.

Thank you for your support, Joan! It's always difficult to please everyone and putting myself out there is always risky, even more so in my book than in my blog. Thank you for focusing on the key issue and for your good wishes!

Diane, this is an amazing comment. Thank you for reading and taking the time to send in your thoughts. I hope you will read my memoir that is coming out next week which will expose all the pain that came along with losing my best friend and mother.

Thank you for reading and your wonderful comments, Jennifer and Marylou! That poem is amazing, and strikes me as I am about to publish my adoption memoir March into My Heart which has a poem very similar at the end. I hope you will both read it. Publication is March 20th (my adopted daughter's birthday).

Thanks for reading and commenting, Saltwater. Yes, my blog is definitely my opinion but you might find the comment I received from another Patch reader interesting: "I was just having this exact conversation with a friend the other day. The 'adopt a highway' signs on every road bother me the most. I have two children, one adopted and one biological and agree with everything you wrote. Now how do we get Merriam- Webster to understand this?"

I agree completely John, however, this mentally unstable person chose to reach for a gun rather than reaching out for help. Unless we can locate these people before they act, we will never be able to stop this behavior. Taking away their tools may keep us all safer from those we don't know need help.

Thank you Kristy. Your comments are appreciated and also inspirational to all parents. Its nice to see that some people who chime in on this venue care about how they are perceived by others.
