Special Election Deadline This Friday

Candidates are reminded to file before 5 p.m. in order to be considered for Town Council.

Prospective candidates are reminded that the deadline to file to run in the Leesburg special election is Friday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m.

Voters in Leesburg will go to the polls on April 17 to elect a member of the Town Council to fill the remainder of the term vacated by Councilman Kenneth D. Reid upon his election to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.

Earlier this month, former Supervisor Kelly Burk announced her candidacy for Town Council as well as Dwight Dopilka, a 10-year resident of the town. Both candidates are the only two who are currently running.
