Construction Vehicle Ruptured Gas Line, Closing Sycolin
The incident forced the evacuation of some offices, but was over by 9:30 a.m.
Loudoun Fire & Rescue workers shut down Sycolin Road early Friday morning after a gas line was damaged.
A construction vehicle performing work near Sycolin and Tavistock Drive damaged a gas control valve and ruptured a 12-inch line.
Sycolin was closed from from Tolbert Drive to Miller Drive in Leesburg for a little less than two hours, reopening the road by 9:30 a.m.

Loudoun Fire & Rescue units from Leesburg and Lansdowne responded, as well as the Loudoun County Hazardous Materials Team. Offices at 803 Sycolin Road were evacuated during the incident.
No injuries were reported.
