Fun for the Whole Family at Loudoun County Child Safety Day

On Saturday, August 2, "get up close to awesome rescue squad vehicles and cool interactive displays" at this year's Child Safety Day.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, in a partnership with the Town of Leesburg Police Department, is sponsoring the Third Annual Child Safety Day Saturday, Aug. 2.

Developed by Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman in 2012, this year’s Child Safety Day is scheduled to take place from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Village at Leesburg. The event will feature law enforcement displays and provide information to parents on protecting their children from becoming victims of crime.

The event honors the memory of Erica Heather Smith, the 14-year-old girl who disappeared July 29, 2002. Erica’s body was found 11 days later in a grave along Broad Run Creek in Ashburn.
